53' Hatteras 53 Convertible
1978 Hatteras 53 Convertible DA
This Collectable 53’ Hatteras Convertible is now up for immediate delivery and is seeking an ambitious buyer who has a love and an extensive background for the notorious sport fish brand! Current owner has it staged in palm beach and has it mechanically checked to ensure the engines & systems perform as they should. Hatteras has been an industry standard for fishing yachts of 50' or more. She is proportioned well with a long foredeck and low freeboard that is the perfect design for offshore fishing and cruising. In June of 2015 a renovation was completed including new wood plank flooring, cabinetry, granite countertops, and a modern design for the baths. New lighting was also installed throughout the vessel. Prior to the renovation the Detroit Diesel 12V71 TI’s were rebuilt in 2014. At that time, she was painted top to bottom with non skid Awlgrip paint. Two new stereo systems with speakers throughout the vessel were added, one for the Salon and one for the Flybridge. The Aft Deck storage compartments were renovated and new cushions for the seating areas were added for the aft deck and the upper Helm.
This vessel has a 2 Stateroom, Galley down configuration. New renovation includes: moving the galley up to the Salon and adding a 3rd Stateroom. There is also a recessed sink and stove, granite countertops and fine cabinetry. Port side is a couch that is positioned perfectly to view the countertop mounted 40" smart TV. Forward in the Salon are mirrored cabinets that camouflage the presence of a microwave, the AC electric panel, the stereo system for the Salon and Staterooms with individual speaker controls for each room. The Salon is complete with well-appointed LED lighting including rope lights for evening atmosphere. The plank wood flooring is a rich accent to the Salon presentation. Moving forward to the lower deck, the wood plank flooring continues. The Master Stateroom is portside with a full bath, granite countertops and a modern Glass bowl sink. There is ample storage and a large hanging closet. Heading further forward is the second Stateroom with two bunks, cabinetry, and a full bath with granite countertops and the same modern "glass bowl" sink. It too provides significant storage and a large hanging closet. Opposite the Master Stateroom is the third Stateroom that was added when the Galley was moved up to the Salon. While relatively small compared to the other two Staterooms it is well designed with double bunks and additional storage compartments.
The deck is well appointed with color coordinated cushions. Next step, the ladder takes you to the Flybridge, where you meet the master control station. Electronics include Garmin 741xs GPS and GMR 18 HD Radar System, a Vetus bow thruster and an. Icom VHF radio all of which were installed in 2015. Robertson AP20 AutoPilot is an excellent feature, although the current owner has never seen the need to use it. There is also a second Stereo with speakers and Bluetooth, remote and smartphone controls. Additional ladders will take you to the Tuna Tower where there is not an upper helm control system. Wood trim has been mounted on either side of the windlass. Both were a part of the 2015 renovation.
