Calypso, a one of a kind custom example of this beloved design with a spade rudder for performance, has cruised worldwide and has been gracing the waters of Southern New England for years. With her black hull and green bottom, her classic lines stand out and turn heads in every harbor she enters. She has been lovingly cared for by her current owners of over 10 years. Recent upgrades include new Awlgrip in 2020, replaced batteries, rebuilt head, new stove, recut Genoa, and a new dodger. Introduction:
Calypso is a Hinckley 41, redesigned with a spade rudder to perform better under sail. With a fully battened main, recut genoa, large cockpit, and plenty of deck space, she is a pleasure to sail with any number of crew.
Hull and Deck:
Calypso has new black awlgrip(2020) and a green bottom with a white boot stripe and a gold leaf cove stripe. She has a lead ballast keel and spade rudder. The cockpit combing, Cockpit table, aft propane locker and lazarette are varnished teak. The cockpit is spacious and comfortable and boasts a complete set of cushions. The Edison Pedestal and compass were installed in 2006.

Accommodations
The main saloon has berths on either side with a dining table that drops down from the forward bulkhead. The two main berths pull out to be more spacious, with an additional pipe berth on either side. All berths, including the forward V berth have lee cloths. The interior of all cushions in the main saloon is new. There is a working Dickinson Newport propane stove(2003).
The forward V berth has an insert for the bunk, large opening hatch, ample stowage, original lights, and upgraded 12V outlets.
The head has a Jabsco marine toilet and renewed head lines. The vanity countertops are Formica and the original medicine cabinet is in place.
The galley has a new gimballed 3 burner Force 10 propane stove with custom carpentry. The ice box is fitted with a DC refrigeration system. (compressor replaced in 2012) The Nav Station sits above the icebox to starboard.
There is glowing varnished teak and mahogany throughout.
